Kiowa Housing Programs
Native American Housing Services, Inc. (NAHSI) provides housing services for Kiowa tribal members. The assistance applies only in the Kiowa jurisdiction area of Caddo, Kiowa, Comanche, Tillman, and Cotton counties of Oklahoma. An applicant's annual gross income must not exceed the stated Income Limits (according to the income limits under the Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act of 1996).

Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Program
This program is available for the qualified home owner to rehabilitate their existing home. You must have occupied your home as your primary residence for the prior three years for eligibility to the rehab program. Call our Anadarko office for details.
This program may also assist a Kiowa tribal member facing catastrophic circumstances. This assistance will be in the form of emergency housing and repair of a damaged home. Call our office for details.
Approval to the Rehab program will require the participant to sign a binding commitment document, such as a Deed Restriction or a Second Mortgage, which is then filed with the local County Courthouse or Bureau of Indian Affairs for a period of time based on the amount of monies expended in rehabbing your home. Homeowner's insurance is also required during the useful life period. If you have any questions, contact our Anadarko office.
Down Payment Assistance
NAHSI staff will assist the applicant in the home buying process. Homebuyer Education and Financial Literacy classes are available to an approved applicant. Down payment and closing cost assistance is available for those who qualify for a home loan. Assistance is only available within the tribal jurisdiction area.
Rental Programs
Applicant must choose one of the rental subsidies.
Deposit Assistance Program
This program will assist the qualified applicant with:
- First month's rent amount
- Rental security deposit amount
- Utility deposits (electric, gas, and water)
Rental unit must meet Section 8 standards. This is a one-time assistance.
Tennant Based Rental Assistance (TBRA) Voucher Program
The TBRA Voucher Program will assist a qualified applicant with a percentage of their rent payment, according to their income, for a period of twelve (12) months. If not currently under a rental contract, do not sign an agreement until an inspection has been performed and the unit is confirmed it meets Section 8 standards.
